This is my presentation card. Actually, I would call it a letter.
First of all, I would like to introduce myself as a human being. A man who has big dreams and small fears. I was born in Cuernavaca, Mexico, a.k.a. the city of the perpetual spring; a place that I cherish with all my heart.
Since I was a late 90’s baby, I grew up in a very fast changing world. By the time I was in elementary school the internet was already a thing in my country and my parents did their best to give my sister and I access to all the new tools the world had to offer. From encyclopedias, movies, to calculators, cameras, computer, videogames, cellphones, tv or any major technology that allowed us to learn.
This made me curious. I would crack open my toys or the remote whenever they stopped working, play along with the internal circuits and pretend I was some sort of tech wizard that could fix it by twisting a cable or two.
When I got old enough, the documentaries about science, sci-fi and history would fill up my entire afternoon. -Even when there was any homework left to do-.
Soon enough, during elementary school I was captivated by the physics class (as any kid with a good professor would). That led me to an ambicious project; to replicate a tesla coil. The whole process was delightful to me; my parents would help me getting the materials and build it. We even traveled to Mexico City just to get a few components that nobody in my city was able to supply. After a few weeks working on it, we got to see the most amazing sparks I’ve ever seen in my life. When the lightbulb would turn on without touching anything else but my hand I new that I wanted to dedicate my life to science. Not sure if it was electricity but something was making me feel shivers down my spine.
A few years later I had already worked on different small jobs, from valet parking, packing groceris or selling and delivering food to helping people with their homework, projects and tutoring. But then the time for “serious” jobs was coming, so I decided to give a last a chance to my artistic side by doing a internship at a marketing team. Altough I liked it and made me happy, I was sure that I wanted to be an engineer so I joined to help a dear friend who had his own engineering firm to learn from him what I could about electric design.
Since then the story pretty much would be summed up in the portfolio page in this very site. I dedicated 5 years to study Mechatronics Engineering and being the best at it. I made friend along the way that now run their own succesful careers and I’m happy to say that I can count on them.
The future is now, my goal is to create a network of talented people that believe that we can do better everyday until the next generation can take over.
Hopefully one day, you’ll join us.
